Ground Duty (Technical Branch): For technical branches, candidates must have a 4-year engineering/technology degree in relevant disciplines with at least 60% marks. Degrees in fields like Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, or relevant engineering branches are accepted.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch): Candidates should hold a graduate degree (minimum 3 years) in any discipline with at least 60% marks. For some branches, such as Accounts and Logistics, specific qualifications like a B.Com degree may be required.
4. Physical and Medical Standards - AFCAT Exam Eligibility Criteria
Along with academic qualifications, candidates must meet the physical and medical standards set by the Indian Air Force. This includes:
- Height and Weight: Minimum acceptable height for men is 162.5 cm for the Flying Branch and varies for other branches. The weight must be proportionate to the height as per military standards.
- Vision: Specific vision requirements must be met, including 6/6 vision for certain roles in the Flying Branch.
